Workshop Overview

  • What You’ll Do:

    • Prepare your own oyster mushroom growing bucket using a predrilled 5-litre container.

    • Learn the step-by-step process of mixing the substrate, caring for your mushrooms, and harvesting them.

    • Receive comprehensive instructions and guidelines for refilling your bucket to grow additional mushroom varieties.

  • What’s Included:

    • All materials, including a predrilled bucket, substrate mix, and growing instructions.

    • Expert guidance throughout the preparation and growing process.

    • Refreshments during the session.

  • What You’ll Learn:

    • How to grow and harvest 1-5kg of oyster mushrooms over 2-3 harvests.

    • How to refill and reuse your bucket for future mushroom-growing projects.

    • Tips for composting the spent substrate and starting fresh.

  • Location: Applesham Farm, Coombes, LANCING, BN15 0RP
    (Parking available outside the main farmhouse)

  • Time: 10:30 am – 12:00 noon

Additional Information

  • Accessibility: If you have specific requirements, let us know in advance, and we’ll make suitable arrangements. In case of rain, the workshop may move to an alternative indoor space, including a ground floor barn or upstairs room.

  • Food Allergies: All food samples may contain nuts and grains. Please inform us at least 10 days before the event of any allergies.

  • Support: We’ll continue to provide guidance after the workshop to ensure your growing success.

Growing Requirements

  • Keep your bucket in a cool, dark environment for the first 3 weeks.

  • Once ready, bring the bucket into the light and mist it twice daily to encourage healthy mushroom growth.

  • After harvesting, compost the contents and refill with fresh substrate available on our website.

Cancellation Policy

  • Please cancel at least 7 days before the workshop to receive credit toward another session.

  • Cancellations made with less than 72 hours' notice will forfeit any payments made.
